Welcome to Eden House.
We understand that coming to stay at Eden House can feel like a big step. You may be feeling unsure, anxious, or have lots of questions—and that’s completely natural.
Our team is here to support you every step of the way. We aim to create a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment where you and your child can feel comfortable and supported.
What is Eden House?
Eden House is a residential family centre where you will live with your child while we work together to understand your strengths and support your parenting.
During your stay, we will carry out an assessment of your parenting while also offering guidance, support, and opportunities to develop your skills.
What to Expect During Your Stay
Each family has their own individual plan, so your experience will be tailored to your needs.
Your time at Eden House will usually include:
- Daily routines focused on caring for your child
- Support and guidance from staff
- Parenting sessions and practical learning
- Time to spend together as a family
- Observations of your parenting to help inform the assessment
Our staff are available 24 hours a day to support you. We work alongside you in a respectful and supportive way, helping you build confidence and skills.
Support You Will Receive
We offer a wide range of support to help you care for your child and build independence.
Parenting Support
- Understanding your child’s development
- Building routines
- Feeding, play, and bonding
- Managing behaviour and responding to your child’s needs
Life Skills
- Cooking and household management
- Budgeting and financial skills
- Building healthy relationships
- Keeping your home safe
Emotional and Therapeutic Support
- Support with mental health and wellbeing
- Access to therapy sessions
- Help to understand past experiences and how they may affect parenting
Our goal is to support you in making positive and lasting changes.
Your Accommodation
We aim to provide a comfortable and homely environment. Depending on your placement, you may stay in a private room or a self-contained flat.
Accommodation includes:
- Furnished rooms with a bed, storage, TV, and space for your child
- Access to a private or shared bathroom
- Communal living areas and kitchen spaces
- A nursery playroom and outdoor play area for children
We want you to feel as settled and comfortable as possible during your stay.
What to Bring With You
You should bring:
- Clothing for yourself and your child
- Toiletries and personal care items
- Baby essentials (e.g. bottles, pushchair, nappies)
- Any personal items that will help you feel at home
You will be responsible for buying and preparing your own food.
If you are unable to bring certain essentials, please let us know—support can be provided where needed.
How Long Will You Stay?
Most stays at Eden House last between 12 and 20 weeks, depending on your individual circumstances.
There will be regular reviews during your placement to ensure the plan is right for you and your child.
Safeguarding and Support
Your child’s safety and wellbeing is our highest priority.
Staff are present at all times and will observe and support your parenting as part of the assessment. This helps us understand your strengths and identify where support may be needed.

Leaving Eden House
When your stay comes to an end, we will support you with your next steps.
This may include:
- A clear transition plan
- Ongoing support in the community
- Outreach support for up to 6 weeks (where appropriate)
